Field mapping is the process of matching a source field to a destination field so data lands in the correct place when it moves between systems. In automation and software work, field mapping is the quiet plumbing behind imports, syncs, lead routing, CRM migration, data enrichment, and reporting. When it’s done well, users barely notice it.
